is the method of putting out a message or having an application that is so gripping people spontaneously pass it along. Viral marketing as a concept is itself an example of going viral. Most good ideas are inherently spread just because they are good ideas. This also works for the outrageous, the inside scoop, and the highly entertaining.

Do you get emails that you pass on? Do you cut and paste pictures and send them out to your friends? Do you share the latest, not-yet-released song from your favorite band? All these are examples of viral in action.
It's viral marketing when the system is used to attract customers and increase sales. But don't make the beginner mistake of trying to go directly from a viral marketing campaign to the sales pitch. Get a little more subtle. Use viral marketing to get leads and build relationships.

Driving traffic means getting motivated and bona fide prospects to your sales page. There are many methods used for this (PPC ads, JVs, forum marketing and others), but the workhorse for many marketers is list building. Not just a random collection of email addresses, but subscribers who know, like and trust you.

  • They know you. Your emails are recognized and opened. They don't get deleted offhand.
  • They like you. When they read your material, subscribers identify with you and think of you as a friend.
  • They trust you. Readers believe what you tell them and expect (rightly!) that you won't lead them astray.

Domain level authentication is already here. In a response to phishing attacks, Yahoo and other mail service providers have instituted Domain Key Identified Mail (DKIM), a combination of DomainKeys (a Yahoo developed product) and Internet Identified Mail (a standard from Cisco Systems). Essentially, it looks for a cryptographic signature on incoming emails that identifies the domain from which they were sent.

Why is this important? Well, before authentication, phishers and spammers can put any return address they wish in emails and it wasn't checked. With DKIM, return addresses are checked against the authentication signature that is sent in the email header. Scam-mail that imitates commercial sites (phishers) will be identified as not originating at the site listed in the email. And mail that doesn't have an authentication signature will be scrutinized more closely for spam characteristics.

Why should pay attention to this?

As online business owners and marketers, we know that scarcity is a driving force in sales. How many of us know how to use scarcity to encourage sales rather than having those sales or leads go by the wayside? I would venture to say that many of us think we have a pretty good handle on how to use scarcity, but are our techniques really working for the majority of our online visitors?

How are you using scarcity to drive online sales? Are you hitting the right selling points? Is the item or service truly limited? Do your visitors trust that what you are telling them is really true? How many of these questions have you asked yourself? Take that one step further, and ask yourself if everytime you put out another product or service, are you using scarcity, and if its a yes, are you really using your advertising and to the fullest.

Why ? In a world where consumers are tuning out or deleting advertising right and left, independent research shows that newspapers are a destination—not a distraction—for advertising content.

According to research by the Readership Institute at Northwestern University, advertising is one of the top five drivers of newspaper readership. That’s because consumers seek out the newspaper to make product buying decisions. Readers feel emotional connections, such as: they enjoy reading newspapers, they feel better informed after reading, they miss reading it's if taken away, most say reading ads are a good use of their time, they also feel reading newspapers is relaxing, and most also say that some stories touch them personally. What does all this mean to you? dollars spent in newspaper ads can be very profitable if the placement is correct, and your copy is good.

Newspapers own nearly half of all online news and information sites, and local news sites provide the dominant information websites in most of the top 75 markets. More than one third of active internet users, visit newspaper websites each year. Who are these visitors: they tend to be younger and better educated. In addition:

* 91 percent recently shopped online
* 89 percent recently bought online
* 71 percent are only daily at work
* 68 percent have broadband at home
* 56 percent used the newspaper Web site at least once a day
* 40 percent are under 35
* 22 percent have incomes higher than $100,000 annuallly

Although these young readers are web savvy, the printed newspaper is still the primary source for local advertising but the newspapers website beats TV, radio and Yellow Pages as the next best source of information. Advertising on newspaper websites, like its print counterpart, is also a high demand placement. According to the 2005 American Interactive Consumer Survey, more than 32% of newspaper Web site users were very interested in advertising content, behind only weather as an area of interest; more than 40% of young adults were very interested in advertising, behind weather and entertainment content.

Sixty-five percent of those who research purchases on the Web and shop at local stores, said that ads on the local newspaper website influenced their purchasing decision.

The is a marketing funnel that is creating some SERIOUS talk in the home business industry.

It's long been the dream of online business owners to somehow AUTOMATE their business. Who wants to have to be on the phone calling leads, making follow ups, setting up appointments, closing people…and doing all the other stuff? Yet most people see no other choice because that's all they've been taught.

Massive advertising is built into the Reverse Funnel System. You get access to the highest converting ads, and the best places to put them. There are also huge advertising co ops, so you can simply contribute your part and get tons of traffic sent straight to your copy of the reverse funnel system.

Many members join this business simply because there are so many benefits, here is what many new members often say, "What I didn't know is that this amazing vacation package was going to be the start of a new business for me…I myself had been sucked into the funnel and knew it was promising!

99.9% of network marketers out there who follow traditional tactics will only see a small fraction of the success they could possibly generate, simply because most only do exactly what their uplines and company tell them to do. Have you ever felt like you have done everything you were told to do, and no matter how hard you tried, using all the tactics, not ONE OF THEM ever did a darn thing to truly build their business. Most people run out of prospects early on in their business.

There is one lesson that all home based business owners need to UNDERSTAND, is that if you want to truly build a successful business for yourself, no matter
what that business is, and it DOES NOT MATTER what your product is. It doesn't matter how many times its been on TV, in magazines, or rated by some scientist…

NONE of that stuff matters if you don't know this one thing…How To Market Your Business. This site is where I give you all the techniques I use, all those that work for me, and work for my team members.

In closing, I have been around this industry a while…and have not seen a system as polished as this one. You Can Learn A LOT More About How The Reverse Funnel System Works, right here, in the AttractionListBuilding social network, and by joining our team.

Marketing online is an ever changing facet of business. Blogging is by far becoming one of the most widely used forms of . Blogs by design attract visitors. Have blogs as marketing instruments peaked? No way. What's happening with blogs is exactly what happened with webpages back in the bad old 1990s. Back then, everyone was told to get a webpage- either personal, family or business. We were told that the mere having was enough to launch us into cyberspace. But how many personal webpages are viewed by anyone look at now? Very few. The plain fact is that once a technology or format catches on, survival of the fittest takes over. A simple, homegrown, template-style webpage just doesn't cut it. The same thing is happening with blogs.

Social Networking Grown Up? You may be familiar with MySpace, Facebook, Digg, and Twitter, two of these sites ushered in an era of social networking. Essentially, people signed up and posted their information and opinions and linked with other people on the sites to share their profiles. These networked sites used advertising to generate profits. But the real action was when people spontaneously joined social networks around some subject area within the overall framework of the site.

Now, we are seeing an new breed enter the arena. Why not allow people with shared interests to create and spawn their own sites outside of an overarching framework? This is the next development. Instead of linking within MySpace to other clients of MySpace, you can now start your own site and keep the ad income generated with Google's AdSense.

Brand Yourself In Forums

All newbies have questions, and one way to brand yourself in your niche is to help the newbies. In every few posts, mention your background. A question about dog grooming- Where can I find information about dog grooming? Might be answered like this: "Hi, I have owned my own dog grooming business for years, and what I tell my clients is…" Regular forum members will start to notice your presence and, when they need your product, will think of you over others. To make your reputation rise in the , give solid answers that are short and informative. You might have to look something up to do this, but the answer to most beginner questions can actually be found on the same forum they posted the question in- in the archives.

Twitter- a new phenomenon

The Twitter community is a great way to incorporate your . Time magazine says, "Twitter is on the way to becoming the next killer ap." Well, it's no longer 'on the way', it is the next killer ap.
What's Twitter? Twitter is a free online connectivity service that takes advantage of mobile phone text messaging as well as traditional chat style communication. Sounds simple, right? It is. Twitter is an application originally meant to post short, stream-of-consciousness messages between friends. "I'm getting on the subway now, the crowd is huge." - that sort of thing. But, like all things net, it has morphed past the original intended purpose.

Simply put, Yes. The techniques are out there to learn, but learning them all and then getting the experience to apply them properly is going to cost you a ton of money, and why do it alone, when you have the ability to tap into the knowledge of others? What most of us sooner or later realize is that we will eventually pay for all the time that we have invested, and why do it alone and spend all that time, when we can accelerate that part and really begin to make serious progress? We are bound to make mistakes, none of us starts out an expert, it took me time to learn what I know, and to learn from others. Anyone with enough motivation, time and money can do this, but there are advantages to working with a team. But, of course, you wouldn't be reading this if you didn't already suspect there is a much better way.

It's plain that keeping up with new trends and techniques requires education. Not the formal business school MBA type- that's too slow. What is required is an enthusiastic group of like-minded people who share ideas and tips. Are you educating yourself to find and exploit new territory, expand existing business, and keep the ideas flowing? The first person who sold beanie babies on eBay made money. So did the next ten. But the next thousand probably didn't.

Biz Opp or Franchise?

One of the ways to grow a successful business is to sell versions of your business to others for a fee, either ongoing or one-time. Your business model has a value all by itself, above and beyond the products you sell. The question is, in what form will you sell it?

Among the various ways you can sell your business (and keep it at the same time!) is the license (or biz opp) and the franchise. Each has it's own advantages and disadvantages.

No matter what you sell, along with it you are selling yourself and your abilities. In order for expertise to be seen by others, you need to leverage your abilities, now some take time, but, that doesn't mean that your expertise offline cannot help you online.

Something as simple as selling comic books makes you more informed about them than I am. If I'm a buyer, I'm going to assume you know your product and can answer my questions and concerns. This puts you in the favorable position of having information your customers want. Even if it is just current prices and market trends, because you are in the business, you are a relative expert. This expertise can be leveraged into more contacts and sales.

Too many online business owners make a fundamental mistake- they are stuck in the old-fashion business model where location and product alone bring customers to them. If I need a left-handed wrench, I'm going to find the closest (location) plumbing supply store that carries it (product). My choices locally might be between one or two plumbing supply stores. I only call about price and availability after I've narrowed my choices to stores near me. This isn't how the Internet works.
